I'm a Senior Research Scientist in Computational and Information Sciences at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. In this role I am the Chief Architect for PNNL’s Data Intensive Computing Initiative. I’m also a member of the IEEE Computer Society and a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society. Essential Software Architecture Until July 2006, I led the software architecture R&D at National ICT Australia (NICTA) in Sydney, Australia. While at NICTA, I wrote a book – Essential Software Architecture. Our MeDICi Integration Framework (MIF) is now available for download from here. It's based on the Mule ESB platform, and gives a Java-based API for easily creating distributed data processing pipelines that integrate codes written in any programming language.
